Rainbow Connection Nail Polish!!!

As well as engaging in Wine Wednesdays, I now paint my nails once a week on Sunday. I haven't painted my fingers in years. It's so refreshing to look down and see something shiny on my fingers all the time. The above picture if of OPI Rainbow Connection over Cult Nails Living Water.

OPI Rainbow Connection is a stunning glitter combination suspended in a clear polish. It includes 3 sizes of pink, orange, blue, green, silver and gold hexagonal glitter. In the photo above I have 2 coats of the polish applied. Unfortunately, this color is no longer available, but a dupe by Milani  called "Gems" is extremely close at $3.99 from Cherry Culture. A few of my friends have purchased the Milani version after seeing my nails and have been very happy. Although I love the discoball look of non-stop glitter, it is excessively challenging to remove the 4 coats necessary to achieve that look. Even 2 coats is time consuming with the cotton ball and tin foil removal approach.


My new nail polish obsession began after I saw the Muppet Movie. I loved the playfulness of the film and afterwards stumbled upon Rainbow Connection which was inspired by the movie. Since then, I have been drawn to polishes free of most chemicals such as Cult Nails. I also like supporting the individual Maria who started the company after blogging about nail polish for a few years. It is really an inspiring story.
