LAST FINAL!!!

Yes.. I just finished my last undergraduate final!

Time to enjoy a few cocktails and go nuts for the rest of the day/night. First up is a couple beers, followed by a local happy hour, and then the school drunk bus (which I can drink on) will take everyone to the nightclubs. Hopefully I will be able to function tomorrow.

Life Flies By- 3 months till med school

Officially I have....

-less than 2 weeks to undergrad graduation.

-3 months to the first day of medical school.

-roughly 2 years to Step 1 exam????

-roughly 4 years to medical school graduation.

Ok, time to just focus on the present. In the next few weeks I hope to continue my shameless shenanigans. Everyone says you should just live it up until school starts, but frankly I'm not used to having so much free time. Beyond getting my little Bengal kitten, I want to get certified to have a concealed weapon (long story), maybe I'll do some shadowing, and I need to work on my cocktail making skills. Everyone seems to recommend traveling, but while it sounds great in theory - it's a sucker punch to the bank account. I still need more ideas though that don't involve studying.

Cult Nails- Seduction Part 1

As I said in my last nail polish post, after the Cult Nails polish Enticing looked amazing after a full week of wear I put Seduction on top. Seduction is a purple gelly polish filled with red and blue flakies. With Enticing underneath, the blue flakies take a backseat to the red - the blue only shows up when the light hits the nails in a certain way. The picture below is inside with 2 coats Seduction over 3 coats of Enticing.

Seduction lasted 6 days until it chipped. Given that the polish underneath had been on my nails for 13 days at that point - I can't believe it lasted that long. Overall I like this polish, but I really want to see what it looks like over other colors. I want to see more of the blue flakies coming through. Also, I'm seeing a lot of similarities between NFU-Oh! 51 and Seduction which I will compare later.

Cult Nails- Enticing polish

I pre-ordered the Divas and Drama Collection from Cult Nails. I was so excited to get my little burritos. The first polish to call my name was Enticing. Enticing is a sheer pale pink polish. The photos below have 3 coats. I love the rosy hints of color that keep making my smile and keep the color from being boring.

The most amazing part about Enticing is its wear-ability. Not only does it look great with every outfit, but I had NO chipping and the slightest bit of tip wear after 7 days. So instead of taking it off I put another color in the collection, Seduction, over it. I will talk about Seduction next week ;)

Wine Wednesday - Chianti & Sauvignon Blanc

I have been continuing my wine Wednesdays with friends where each week we try something new. Unfortunately I keep forgetting to post. So here are 2:

Gabbiano Chianti 2010

Delightful  oaky aromas hint at an Italien delight. The dry aftertaste is enhanced by an tangy flavor.

Fetzer Sauvignon Blanc, 2009, California

The fruity sweetness coats the tongue leaving a thick aftertaste.  Not so hot for our group

Moving to Med School Part I - Box in a Box

In 3 weeks I will be moving back home. I am currently going to undergrad out of state. I will be home for roughly 2 months before I move into my new apartment for medical school!

Currently, I only own a bedroom set and a bunch of random kitchen supplies. Soon I will be boxing this stuff up and movers will pick it up. A week after pickup it will arrive at my family home in Texas. To box stuff up I needed to buy BOXES. Through U-Haul I purchased a bunch of relatively inexpensive moving boxes ranging from $2-3.50/box.I was actually surprised at how inexpensive they were

About a week after my purchase, my boxes arrived in a big box. ;)

Hunger Games Nail Polish- Stone Cold

Be forewarned - this was a huge challenge to work with!

China Glaze Stone Cold (District 2 Masonry) is a thick matte shimmery polish that looks like asphalt. It dries super fast and give complete coverage in one coat. Please excuse the mess (pre-cleanup) in the photo I took to capture the matte nature of the polish. I applied the same amazing Cult Nails top/base coat to this polish that traditionally lasts 7+ days depending on the quality of the polish. Imagine my SHOCK when this polish started epically chipping (5+) in less than 24 hours from the time of application... FML.

Because this polish looked so funky and fun, I decided to try and save instead of chucking it in the trash (if something chips in 24 hours I have zero interest in the product). I decided to try applying a flakie top coat- the Brazilian Ludurana Arco Iris shown below. I swear the flakies give some sort of structural support. Once again the Ludurana polish exceeded my expectations and helped the touched up Stone Cold manicure last 5 days without chipping.
